Our eco-responsible commitments

Before being a campsite, Camping du Garlaban was an important natural site.

It is set in the heart of a magnificent 7-hectare pine forest, not far from Marseille and Cassis (less than 20 minutes away).

The pitches are surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation: boxwood, Scots pine and downy oak.

We have endeavoured to create a development project that is consistent with this environment and its richness.

Camping du Garlaban was awarded the European ecolabel in July 2022, making it the first in Provence. Awarded by Afnor Certification for a period of three years, the European ecolabel certifies the commitment made by the campsite to implement an environmental policy aimed at reducing its impact and supporting both its staff and customers in the ecological transition.

Several actions underline our commitment:

→ The supply of 100% renewable energy and the use of energy-saving materials and equipment.

→ Using over 95% eco-labelled cleaning products.

→ Implementation of a waste reduction plan and on-site recycling of 100% of the campsite’s green waste.

→ The selection of local and committed suppliers for the catering offer.

→ The elimination of all single-use plastics and numerous other information and awareness-raising measures put in place to encourage soft modes of transport and reduce the impact of tourism on the environment.

At our campsite, this is reflected in our accommodation (ecolodges, cabins and chalets pods), built to blend in with the natural surroundings. hey are connected to an ecological wastewater treatment, plant below the campsite.
All waste water is treated on site by a natural filtration system, limiting our impact on the environment.

All the products used by the campsite maintenance team are eco-labelled and fully comply with the requirements of our ecological sanitation system.
All campers will be asked to follow a few instructions in order to respect the campsite’s environmental cycle (exclusive use of ecological products for washing up, dishes and hygiene).
Don’t worry, we sell these products at reception.

Selective sorting and composting are available on the campsite, at the entrance to the site.
You are invited to sort your rubbish and put it in the appropriate containers.
We advise our motorhome customers about the possibility of emptying waste water nearby.
